How to put Video Files on the iPod or iPhone?
The iPod and th iPhone are great for viewing videos. Apple has made the process of loading and playing video files as easy as possible, so this section and the next cover this topic only briefly. What generally needs more effort is creating video files suitable for put on the iPod or iPhone, which is the subject of the third section in this chapter.
Note: Video formats are confusing at best---but the iPod, iPhone, and iTunes make the process of getting suitale video files as easy da possible. The iPod and iPhone can play videos in the MP$ formate up to 2.5Mbps(megabits per second) or the H.264 formate up to 1.5Mbps. Programs designed to create video files suitable for the iPod and iPhone typically give you a choice between the MP4 format and H.264 format.

The easiest way to get suitable video files is to buy them from the iTunes Store. At this writing, the iTunes Store sells movies, music videos, and epiodes of TV shows.
When you download videos from the iTunes Store, iTunes adds them to your Purchased playlist. You can Play the videos from there. Or by browsing to them. And you can add them to other playlists using the same techniques as for song files.

You can use an application such as Daniusoft DVD to iPod Converter or Cucusoft DVD to iPod Converter to rip the DVD to iPod Video file. You can use an application such as Xilisoft iPod Video Converter to create video to MOV file supported by you iPod. You also can use DVD Video to ipod to convert dvd and video to your ipod.
To play videos on the iPod, scroll to the Videos entry on the main menu, and then press the Slect button to access the Video screec(see Figure 1). Scroll to the appropriate category, And then press the select button to access it. Scroll to the item you want, and then press the Select button to access it and start it playing.
The video screen gives you acces to your video playlists, video files, and the video settings screen.
How to put video files on iPod
You can fast-forward through the video file by pressing the Fast Forward button, and rewind by pressing the Rewind button, but these controls are comfortable only for moving short distances.
To move farther, press the Select button twice to display the scrub bar, and then scroll to scrub forward or backward. When you reach the point you want, press the Slect button to hide the scrub bar again.
To play a video file through a television rather than on the iPod’s built-in screen, scroll to the Setting item on the Videos screen, and then press the Select button to display the Settings screen. Set the TV Out setting to On if you want the iPod always to output the video to TV, or to Ask if you want the iPod to prompt you first(Ask is often more convenient). Set the TV Signal setting to NTSC or PAL, as appropriate for your TV,(NTSC is primarily used in North America and Japan, while PAL is used in the most European countries.)
on the Settings screen, choose whether to output to a TV and, if so, which format to use.
For the Fullscreen setting, Choose On or Off to suit your TV or your tastes. If you want to see captions, set the Captions setting to On; otherwise, leave it turned off.
Press the Menu button to return to the Videos screen, and then content the iPod to the TV using a cable such as the Apple Component AV cable or the Apple Composite AV Cable. Connect the miniplug to the iPod’s headphone socket, and the RCA plugs to the appropriate, color-coded RCA jacks on your TV. The S-video plug is colored yellow, and the two audio plugs are colored white and red.
Set the Video playing, and enjoy.
