My 70HP Yamaha Outboard runs well 1st & after a couple of hours it putts, doesn't die though? Model# 70etlk
The model # is 70etlk. It runs very well in the beginning and then it no longer wants to get up and run at full power after a couple of hours. It never quits running, and if I put it in neutral and rev it, it sounds fine and revs up the entire power band.
I have had this happen once before, pulled the boat out of the water and discovered the hose going to the lower unit was not attached. It was barbed together, so I reconnected the barb, put the boat back in and it ran fine, for one weekend. I have reinspected this to see if it re-occurred but it has not. Are there any suggestions please? Someone mentioned to me that since it has a centrifical fuel pump that I should check the filter and also run an additional in line filter to prevent this. But I am hoping someone else has delt with this???
Please help...
should have bought a Merc
