Brass Quartz

How can I get a perfume smell out of a necklace? I got a used necklace. It is made of rose quartz and wire (brass I think). It has a strong perfume smell. I have tried soaking in in soap/water solution, but that has not worked. I have had bad experiences with metal and bleach, so I am not going to use that. Try using a very small amount of Dawn dish detergent diluted in water then rinse with clear water
